Mueller Says Manafort Lied About Trump Not Knowing Of Trump Tower Meeting, According to Rudy Giuliani

With Paul Manafort’s sentencing memorandum expected to be filed with the US District Court in the District of Columbia sometime this afternoon, those close to the president, as well as Americans in general, are waiting to see just what the filing may reveal about the Mueller probe.

Manafort has reportedly lied to investigators pertaining to the Russia probe, violating his plea agreement, and possibly opening himself up to additional charges. This afternoon CNN is reporting that the president’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani has said that the lies that Mueller believes Manafort told to the special counsel’s office are at least partially related to President Trump.

Giuliani even goes a step further and claims that investigators told Paul Manafort that they don’t believe Manafort’s claims that Mr. Trump had no knowledge about the now-infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting.

“In the questioning of Manafort, they did tell [Manafort’s team] at the time that they believed he was lying about certain things related to us that he’s not lying about,” Giuliani explained to CNN this afternoon.

The Trump Tower meeting, in which Paul Manafort, Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner had attended, and a Russian attorney promised dirt on Hillary Clinton, has been a major part of the special counsel’s investigation.

If the President did know that the meeting was taking place with a Russian agent in order to obtain dirt on Mr. Trump’s political opponent, the ‘collusion’, or to better put it, the conspiracy aspect of the investigation, would appear to have quite a bit of weight behind it.

The special counsel’s office is expected to release their sentencing memo before the end of the day today. Whether that memo will have additional information regarding Manafort’s alleged lies to investigators, or if they will be redacted, is yet to be seen.
