Why do I feel that quoting this article or post links to it will do no good? It's truly amazing how many people use short interest as "proof" of shorting pennies. I've even pointed out that the report EXPLICITLY informs readers that it cannot be used that way. But nnnnooooooo. They find another sketchy fly-by-night web site that tells them just what they want to hear, contradicting the information in the very source of the report.

The power of the dark side is seductive. Sometimes I lie awake at night and think that I'd not really be hurting anyone if I played this game. After all, some people are just hell bent on giving their money away. They could give it to me. But then, my conscience gets in the way.

"Making daily short reporting data easily-digestible and relevant is not hard. On the contrary, it should be easy to aggregate all of the short selling that is reported as agency trades, as well as all of the net sum of buying and selling by each market maker and principal trading firm."

Is that true?

It should be PM’d to AlanC by every person on this Board.

The claim is that foreign institutions are not subject to FINRA Rule 4210.

The language of the clause does tend to lend ammo to the claim that foreigners must be circumventing 4210.

Is that possible?

how do the people of this board make money? on all other boards people are long or short, so they bash or pump. how do members of this board get compensated?. I wouldn't think anyone would spend time every day on a board doing DD and posting about companies just for "fun".

From Mr Coulson's twitter this morning

Nice to see @FINRA clarify their Daily Short Sale Volume data file can mislead investors after I blogged about it last year—Now we need to #fixthedata!
