I suspect they wanted to publish in a more prominent journal, who may also have been expressing interest, but perhaps wanted to cover more interim data such as something like PFS than the company was willing to reveal at the time. So I suspect the company had to move on for expediency's sake and chose JOTM instead, which turned out to be a better fit for this interim data presentation.
