Quick note. You can get Vascepa in half gm caps ... lot easier to take then the 1 gm cap
Re compliance. Many of my friends already take 1 gm of regular “ fish oil “ daily for “ heart health “ .... of which there is little to zero proven benefit . I think it would be easy to have them switch to at least 2 gems of Vascepa day

I suspect that patient compliance will be better when Vascepa is prescribed by a cardiologist rather than a GP; however, I question how many of even the sickest Vascepa patients will follow through with their doses day after day, indefinitely

The other side of that argument is that your average person absolutely loves things that are "natural". Tons of people take horse-sized multivitamins because they think they help. I don't know about you but my Centrum is gigantic.

The problem of compliance is an interesting one. Even patients with HIV and cancer often fail to comply with oral regimens. And I can't tell you how many times I've failed to finish that last antibiotic pill even though I, of all people, should know better.

I think in balance because of the misinformation everywhere about how "natural" is better patients will comply with this medication, treating it more as a daily vitamin than a pill they have to take.

$amrn. I don’t think prescribing physicians will give 2 shits about the controversy raised on biotwitter. I think it will be approved, it will be cheap and cardiologists will prescribe the shit out of it. This is obviously a comment where I’m leaving my scientific hat at the door.

Even if compliance is low, as long as they pick up their prescription monthly shouldn’t cause a huge impact

Dew ...you had in the past stated you were Statin intolerant ...correct ?

So you obviously have some CV risk factors and were prescribed a Statin .

So if you don't mind ..indulge me .... If you know you have CV risk factors and won't take a Statin ...why won't you take Vascepa .?
Because you think it won't reduce your risk ?
Because you can't be bothered with the 1 gm ..or even the half gm dose ?
