I suspect that patient compliance will be better when Vascepa is prescribed by a cardiologist rather than a GP; however, I question how many of even the sickest Vascepa patients will follow through with their doses day after day, indefinitely



The other side of that argument is that your average person absolutely loves things that are "natural". Tons of people take horse-sized multivitamins because they think they help. I don't know about you but my Centrum is gigantic.

The problem of compliance is an interesting one. Even patients with HIV and cancer often fail to comply with oral regimens. And I can't tell you how many times I've failed to finish that last antibiotic pill even though I, of all people, should know better.

I think in balance because of the misinformation everywhere about how "natural" is better patients will comply with this medication, treating it more as a daily vitamin than a pill they have to take.
