To be fair, it's not just donuts....

It's Tim Horton Donuts! And yes in this case donuts should be capitalized.

"You really are obsessed with doughnuts."

Nah, I don't think so. I just rue/roux the fack that there are no Tim Horton's where I live. I am nott a big donut fan. Indeed, I cant stand the Krispy Kreme Krap that people sometimes bring to the office because they are too lazy to find a real donut shop and can just lazily pick up a dozen or two via drive-thru at KKK.

Butt, because iHub banter rekindled ice-fishing memories in my braincase, the recollection of scrumptdilicious Tim Horton's donuts and coffee on a cold (often dark) winter morn heading ~OUTT to DrillSumHolesInnaIce, I have recently been infected with a strong pining (or cedaring, if you prefer that tree - birch is fine too) for Tim Horton's donuts. So much so, in fack, that I am crazily, seriously CONtemplating an unnecessary trip to Toronto in Feb to see a Leafs/Canadiens game and hit up Hortons.

Shirley you have gotten similar types of impulsive ideas that just won't leaf YerHaid and seduce you to act impulsively.

I am (hopefully) in the early autumn of my life and now, much more freakwently that in the passed, indulge my whims before the Darkness. And perhaps a visit to Canuckistan is one of those itches that I'll choose to scratch. Do-not know yett 4shure.

Earlier in my worklife, I had to spend a lott of time in the Century City office on a very big project (witch entailed a lott of time on the United shuttle and Souffwess - and a lott of breakfasts at Dinah's on Sepulveda because I preferred to stay at a certain hotel in Culver City for CONvenience.

Anyways(TM - Nasfan), one of my permanent Century City colleagues lived (and still lives) nott too far from where InnaGrille lives, butt up inna hills in a very rural (by LA area standards) secluded area with some modest acreage. He commuted in to the CC office every day and about once a week (often if we were working on a Saturday and often Sunday too), he would stop at Stan's Donuts in Westwood and bring a dozen or 18 (depending on the size of the team working that day) donuts which he proclaimed were the best on the West Coast (he is originally a lEast Coastie).

Welp, I tried several different types of his miraculous Stan's Donuts and nott a one of them measured up to the run-of-the-mill Tim Horton's that are found in every tiny crevice of Canucklandia, from coast to coast.

I am thhoroughly unimpressed by Dunkin Donuts when I am in the lEast Coast, and frankly the old Winchell's Donuts in SoCal is nothing at all what it used to be decades ago.

So in my thinking, revisiting Tim Horton's may be a semiconscious way for a middle-aged dude to chase memories of his youth wiff~OUTT having for a red Ferrari and dump DaWife. As such, it seems a small indulgence indeed.

My great fear is that, should I ascend to the peak of the Tim Horton's mountain and find the donuts disappointing to my now-built-to-the-sky expectations, that it will disillusion me in my mid-life quest to relive my youth and drive me into a profound depression as I may realize that only decrepitude and death await in the future, and that North America no longs produces Decent Donuts. Witch is a serious fear that may lead to my decision nott to go to Toronto and perhaps never to seek Tim Horton's donuts again when I am in Canadexico.

Old guys who are bored think like this. Sadly.

Eventually, most of us realize that one can never really go home. And perhaps home was nott exactly as our memory accounts for it. Some things are best left in DaPassed. Mebbe Tim Horton's is one of them.

It remains an open kwestshun for me at this point.

DaWife and I are both beginning to draft our bucket lists, so mebbe I'll put this one on mine. If I can finagle a reason that I 'need' to go to Toronto on a date that, purely coincidently, matches up with the Leafs/Canadiens game, and thereby find a third-party for reimbursement of DaTrip, then I'll almost Shirley 'Do It'® (Nike Corp). There are many legitimate reasons that are 'judgement calls', whereby I could do a telecon or videocon or wreck-O'Mend that it might be more effective if I do a meeting in-person - so there is some flexibility in looking for opportunities (or avoiding, if that is the preference) trabble for meetings.

I will have to digg thru some boxes of old clothes to see if I still have my light blue UT (the T in this case is for Toronto) rugby shirt so I can try and fit in with the Leafs fans (if I go), as I own no Leafs gear to wear. Mebbe blue is nott the best colour though ...

I can't eat donuts, but I buy them for my staff all the time. Bagels and cream cheese and fruit too. Although I did eat half of a cranberry and orange muffin yesterday. Is Robert Rico still peddling water for underprivileged kids?
