State income tax in Ca. sux, but real estate taxes are SWEET, IF you buy and stay put. I pay based on my purchase price (8 years ago). My friend in Houston is paying half what I am, but his house cost 1/5 of what I paid for mine. AND he will be re-assessed next year. Think his taxes will go down?
