For wealthy investors a major consideration is tax efficiency not income which should be deferred to the extent possible. Buffett's BRK is a good example of that. It's paid one dividend since the 1960s!
CLM does provide nontaxable ROC. But you can get that without any costly management fees by transferring your money from one pocket into another.
