I don't think Markey is doing this so his relatives can buy in cheaper - I think he believes he can get the FDA to reject this and appear to be solving the opioid crisis. If he was in breakthrough pain from cancer or burned in a horrible accident he would be begging for an opioid pain medication, and with his fancy government health insurance he would get as much as he wanted! But a poor person or a soldier with legs blown off - how long do they have to wait for pain medication? DOD wants this for battlefield use. I prefer we use only drones and robots in war zones, or stay out of war completely, but until then I want pain control available when needed.
