You have to be kidding........ The big criticism at the time, was that the Caribou would not be able to get over the PIPELINE and the WHALES would have been killed.......

The Salmon have lived in Bristol Bay for 5 million years...... Do you think they will disappear????????

Wrong again
"Totally irrelevant. The pipeline did not threaten the Alaskan Salmon Industry."

Environmentalists SCREAMED AND YELLED PROTESTS against the Alaska Pipeline because they said that it would kill the bears (as well as the caribou) and that earthquakes would shatter it. They are making the same claims bogus claims against the Pebble mine.

But what happened was that the oil industry built the pipeline to survive an earthquake more powerful than any recorded. Since it was built, there have been earthquakes that have come and gone, and none harmed the pipeline.

The environmentalists also said that it tankers transporting the oil would drive away the whales that Alaskan Natives depended on for food. That didn't happen.

And yes, they also said that it would destroy the habitat of the fish in the rivers and streams, including salmon, and that didn't happen.

Now they say that the Pebble mine will kill the salmon. Never happen. Northern Dynasty has shown that the mine will be built so that it will not harm the surrounding area, including Bristol Bay.

So the fake arguments against the Alaska Pipeline is Totally Relevant in showing that fake arguments, then and now, are just that, fake arguments. The Pebble mine will not be toxic to the area no matter how many time you repeat the mantra:

"Totally irrelevant. The pipeline did not threaten the Alaskan Salmon Industry. The TOXIC PEBBLE PROJECT does."
