It's like a private company would sent a directive to all their offices/shops to apply a new cost efficient method of working and leave it up to them to apply it or not.Not in the real world!
Supra-National Mega-Corporations and the sociopaths that run them know one thing and that is P-O-W-E-R. They never stop trying to eradicate you once they perceive a threat, or what they perceive to be a threat. There is no 'off' switch. The MO is Domination, not Cooperation. Yes, I am talking about Big Pharma. This is an old game. Rules have not changed but they have become even more powerful. FDA has been in their pocket since day one.
I'm an old guy, been around. The only way I've seen or experienced to counteract their bullying tactics is personal choice. Gov't, at this point, is, as the saying goes, the entertainment division of corporate america. A great line, sad but true. Choose to utilize that which takes away their power - reject bad food and eat good, nutritious food (thumb your nose at the meat, dairy, and sugar lobbies), reject questionable medicine to seek alternatives, reject the sedentary lifestyle and exercise, reject the idiot box and read books.
Specifically, for us, use Actipatch and tell others. I read the board and feel the hopelessness and frustration. Also, I feel the ground shifting under our feet, a tectonic plate shifting. So many things are coming to a head, a confluence of tipping points; in medicine as we move from pharmaceuticals to electroceuticals is one example.
And to give credit where credit is due, insurance companies are fed up getting gouged again and again with the escalating price tag for drugs, oftentimes not really efficacious even with the rising cost. This is the reason I am a little excited about the CVS/Aetna merger. Is it in the cards that Aetna might cover the cost of Actipatch now they will at least be in the same wheelhouse if not necessarily on the same train? Speculative, yes, but stranger things have happened.
