#147839 RE: drrc1949 #147666

Not NLY, a ship leasing company, SFL - I've been in and out of REITs for years - being in TMA and reading it's Yahoo MB saved my ass in 2007, saw (or suspected) the financial crisis was coming and sold everything in my 401(k) and parked it in a MMF until the worst was over. Currently own NRZ, which is sorta like an MREIT, but it's really not one - it owns the rights to service mortgages, currently yields 11% - a yield that high usually shows risk, but it's really because so few people understand NRZ's business model, pretty complicated - most REITs have double digit yields IIRC, IMO partly because they issue so many secondaries or have ATMs in place to constantly sell new shares.
