Incorrect sir, plenty of places in America where you still need sat phones, and share internet access at the public library. (Alaska, for an example) Oh, outhouses, no running water, require helicopter food supplies in poor weather conditions are real things that also are still in use (or are luxuries some dont have) today in America. There are plenty of places in America where iphones and samsungs dont work, GPS doesnt work, and people that dont have the luxuries of a mall in a city... Plenty cant afford the expense of a monthly phone plan, and 10/20/30 are within budget. Many, many people live in tight budgets, spare cash is a luxury many dont have.

The world is bigger and more vast than ones commute.

Yes, but some people even thought they may have access to a place that sells $600 - $1000 androids and iphones- i know because i paid about $700 for mine- may not be able to spend that much money because they don't have it. For some people all they can afford is a $60 - $100 phone.
