Cancer science is currtently unnecessarily bottlenecked.
I have tried to understand why it took so long to perfect DCvax-Direct after the first trial. As Dr. ML has explained in a completely different setting, not associated with this platform, you need to make the pivotal trial go forward with the final product manufacturing process if at all possible, otherwise you can run into real hurdles -- like having to add preclinical bridge trials, and/or more clinical trials.
Nonetheless, IMO, DCVax-Direct is now ready to go for a pivotal imo. I think NWBO's lack of major resources (and/or external attacks and/or perhaps even some management ineptitude) grounded/delayed societal progress toward curing some cancers. It's very sad imo. I'd think we are at least a year or more behind where we should be for initiating Direct trials.
