Maybe, they did in FACT have a contract with the Dominican Republic Government. This could get real interesting around here.

A couple years back, the Dominican government, for no reason, breached all contracts, stopped all diving and refused to return (stole) the company’s share of treasure recovered. They did this to all companies, including Global Marine. Global sued the DR for $10 Million dollars and that case was to be resolved soon.

Deep Blue Marine are contracted by the Dominican Republic to search and uncover treasure from the wreck. They then split the proceeds 50/50.

For Those Interested In The Real Story.....

Check the intro box. Deep Blue Marine had at least 4 confirmed shipwreck sites they were recovering treasure from. The treasure were given to the Dominican government and upon request were split 50/50 with Deep Blue.

Under the masterful work of Capt Billy Rawson and his crew, hundreds of coins were recovered along with other amazing artifacts, including some rare Mayan/Aztec pieces. Only a handful of rare Spanish 3 reale coins were known to exist, but Capt Billy found a handful of his own.

Perhaps Global won, making any follow up suit filed by Deep Blue a slam dunk and easy money. Even better if it includes the resumption of diving.

I will do some digging. Meanwhile here are some pics of the treasures recovered by a real treasure hunting company Deep Blue. Some of which are still in the hands of the Dominican criminals.

Oh, and Capt. Billy’s book was just published by Amazon. Here’s the link
