Calvin....They DID have a contract with the DR.
Diving and recovering treasure from FOUR different wrecks. When the criminals entered power in the DR, they deliberately breached all contracts. They stopped all diving and kept all the treasure that was turned over to them for division, effectively stealing it.
They did this to Deep Blue, Global Marine, and others legally treasure hunting at the time. Global sued them for $10 million, outcome of that lawsuit is unknown right now. DD is needed there. Perhaps the DR lost, maybe the criminals were voted out of office and things will be returning to normal. Again, more DD is being done.
As said, 14k is a lot to spend without some assurance that something is happening.
Maybe they will get their share of treasure and diving will resume.
Maybe they are looking at a merger with someone.
Maybe they had to renew registration in order to sell the shell.
Lots of possibilities, we will see what happens.
