Just a guess...possibly testing pre-launch. Likely many other operational integration elements to be pulled together behind the scenes. Would not leave it up permanently until merger is completed.
Another thought....if these guys have stock options tied to the strike price as of the completed merger date this pecipituous decline will not have hurt them, assuming a significant increase. Not saying it is being delayed intentionally...I'm just saying :)
