Been in it for a few months but just 970 units. Have a gain of about $600.
It's an incubator pick for me---a pick I'll "try out" for a few months. If it rises substantially, I'll hold pending greater clarity. I rarely unload when I see strong promise.
This is an odd pick for me--- I'm usually into energy. But WPG is something I like partly because it doesn't fit my usual profile.
What I like is the potential for doing well by the company. But I'm not yet convinced that I want to be more involved. Need to continue watching and learning about the company.
At the same time I don't appreciate that WPG's near term future prospects are controlled to a large degree by interest rates. Abd I'm always thinking near-to-mid term when it comes to placing value on any stock pick in my portfolio. With this type of REIT, variables are in the hands of government and I never trust government when it comes to protecting my financial interests.
