To be honest Yanks would be better off going after harper than machado. They need LH power. I mean if you give this some thought.

Gardner who is a lefty will be gone soon enough. Bird has been okay at best, and I'm being nice. Didi is LH. But really their LH power can use a big bat. I personally would sign harper if I was the yankees and play him at 1b long before I would ever think about machado. Machado is somebody the mets should be after but they won't do that, why make the mets fan happy they rather twist the knife, which is what they are good for.
Andujar is putting the work in---everyday out early taking hundreds of balls at 3b--but he'll never be one of those gifted slick fielders we all have seen and admire where every play is fluidly automatic---
the Bird Experiment will have to come to an end here shortly if he continues to flounder while healthy--I haven't given up yet but he is on my frustration list :-)
