Restaurant's closure was only matter of time

The closing of Willie's Duck Diner was only a matter of time due to Moran's now well-established lack of management skills and follow-through.

The reviews of the restaruant on Facebook and Yelp have shown extreme inconsistency, but lousy service seemed to be a recurring theme. That's what you get with a guy like Moran, who touts his "wins", like his appointement to the Mississippi DEC, but more than two years later, still hasn't submitted his bio.

I'm sure that Willie Robertson saw that Moran's management style with the restaurant was damaging his family's name, and so a little over one year after they signed the agreement, and less than 1 year after it opened on Sept 5, 2017, WDD is closed until further notice, probably because Robertson didn't want to renew for another year with Moran and DEWM.

Or maybe it was a health code violation due to the dirty bathrooms (mentioned in several reviews, IIRC).

Who predicted this? Oh yeah, it was I:

Willie's Duck Diner may have generated $2M in revenues over its 3-year lifetime, but the fact that it closed nearly one year ago indicates that it couldn't operate profitably. I doubt that Moran's licensing of the brand will change this trajectory.

A few minutes after that post, I wrote the following:

Clearly, the family isn't big enough to keep the restaurant operating profitably and open.

I doubt that Moran will have any more success.

Sure, there will be some curiosity if and when it reopens in August, but I doubt that DEWM will see any significant revenue, let alone profits, from the licensing deal.

Just a couple of months ago (June 6,) I wrote:

The Duck Diner is another example. If one reads the reviews on Facebook and Yelp, the food is inconsistent and the service ranges from okay to walk-out-before-ordering bad, with most of the recent reviews tending to the latter. Clearly, Moran isn't making much of an effort to manage the place effectively or to hire a manager who can.

At least he now has a place to hold his parties, but the eventual closure will ruin his relationship with Willie.
