True or not, the optics don’t look good. He boosted the value of his shares considerably when the price popped because of his tweet. If he sold shares on that pop, the SEC may not be too happy. His announcement was premature.
And just to clarify, he didn’t say the company WAS going private. He said he was THINKING about taking it private. He has a lot of hurdles to clear first. This is a publicly traded company, he doesn’t get to just make the decision on his own.
