Thanks for the very enlightening explanation. It makes for a much clearer picture of the data.

That as many as 34 unmethylated MGMT (met-) belong to the 100 longest living patient group would not be a surprise if most of such patients are among the group's shorter lived patients (i.e. having a 27-36 months lifespan).

Of course a minority of met- could have lived longer than 40.5 months. This would make sense to me since according to the curve only 11% of unmethylated MGMT patients survived past 36 months.

If the above is correct, the 65 or so methylated MGMT long term survivors may have a derived mOS of a few months above 40.5 months and who knows where the trial patients in this group will end up.
