#14906 RE: Tesla thru the roof #14902

Your suggestion that Tesla is somehow solving the world's energy crisis. Widespread adoption of Tesla vehicles would only compound the energy crisis by overloading electrical grids globally while destroying the environment through increased coal consumption to feed power plants Not to mention the damage done by lithium mining and disposal of those batteries when they reach end of life. Lithium batteries are one of the most inefficient energy storage devices ever invented.

Citing Tesla as environmentally-friendly is one of the greatest lies ever told, designed to sucker in the feel-good generation incapable of critical thought.

First of all, electric cars do nothing to "save" the environment. Ask yourself where the energy comes from to charge the batteries. Second, the batteries are also a problem, both with disposal and with cost of replacement. Third, so long as the government subsidizes them, they may at least appear to be economical, but when that subsidy goes away, then what? The same can be said for most of the "green" energy type initiatives such as windmills, algae farming for oil, etc.
In short, this is a company that does produce a product, but burns through money like it was campfire time. It may have a long term future, but not at these stock prices. When the adjustment comes, I may be an investor, but I am not a speculator. This stock is highly speculative within the current price range. Enjoy the ride if you like rollercoasters.
