Hi Nuke So your Cardiologist said you have a 10% risk of a CV event in the next 10 yrs ?

So be a sport and share your lipid panel ..LDL, TG's etc
Then
Whats your BMI ( body mass index ) and your BP ( blood pressure )
Do you exercise at all ...do you walk at least 10,000 steps a day ...track on your iPhone .
Do you have an annual flu shot ...if not , why not ...and I'm assuming you don't smoke .
Are you on a Mediterrean type diet with a lot of Salmon ...or are you on a steak and beer Texas special ?

There is a lot you can do without a Statin or Vascepa ...are you doing any of it ?

So your Statin will be a generic and will reduce your RRR by about ( from memory ) 15% ...higher in certain subgroups like diabetics and HeFH .....but its minimal cost .

If your insurance Co refuses to cover V ..$320 a month ...are you willing to pay for it given a minimal RRR of 7%
Tell me ...how excited are you going to get over a 7% RRR if your current risk is only 10% ....whats that ...cuts your risk down to 9.3% now .
