Hi Paideia - 6% is about as large as i want to get with any single stock position, though, to repeat, i consider this more of a play on an entire sector-- the Private Equity sector. Because of how much PIOE appreciated, it now represents about 40-45% of the worth of my portfolio of individual stock investments -- i only have about 6 other individual stocks i'm invested in right now. Again, the vast majority of our funds are in big index-tracking kind of positions and other instruments (bond funds, etc.).
I suppose i could be "niggled" by some things here, but i'm waiting for more 2H '18 clarity as promised by Alpert and Webb in that March 31 Q4 report and the one for Q1.
I don't smell a whiff of any "Madoff" type of situation with RCP. One of the proofs for me is not just that they have really big institutional investors investing in them, but also that they come up with serious money for their co-investment vehicles with major players in the private equity finance world.
That's why i'm sleeping well at night here....
