Great conversations happening on this board over a summer weekend!

I once sat with an 8 figure cultivator (facility) in which they expressed a desire to seek out and exclusively grow "landraces". (Layman can google). The question was why? Why are you willing to completely alter and enter a new arena, which could/would possibly pull valuable square footage for an unproven "desire".

I can think of 6 companies wait.. after M&A’s.. well now only 3 that believed owning the rights to a diverse seed portfolio would be profitable.

I get it. It doesn’t make fiscal sense to make a bet that may or may not pay off in 5-15 yrs. when the sun is shinning you make hay, or a bird in hand is worth two in the bush etc..
