lodas, thank you for bringing up my father and honoring him he didn't talk much about it but after he passed I found a lot of his information and tags. Yes Custer had two available to him, Gatling guns and decided not to bring them along. There is a controversy as usual by historians whether they would have helped or not because they do require to be in place and are sitting ducks unless guarded well. In my opinion the Sioux would have thought twice after hearing those guns even though back then they were prone to jamming. Custer was so outnumbered and so arrogant those guns could have changed the outcome somewhat but I do not believe in my opinion they would have won that battle. gg4 God Bless America..... and to all that have served you are the reason we can sit here and comfort and post on a message board freely.
