EMBASSY SERVICES AND INFRASTRUCTURE ENABLE
SECURE ENTERPRISE COMPUTING

(from kevin's find)

Over time, the personal computer
has evolved from a word
processing station to a desktop
office productivity tool and
Internet appliance. Today, the
enterprise PC is poised to be
the platform of choice for a
multitude of next generation
business services. To fulfill
its promise, the PC must
provide a trustworthy computing
environment, upon
which enterprises, users, and
business partners can rely.
In order for the user and services
community to rely on the
PC platform in conducting
business transactions, substantial
security issues must be
resolved. These security issues
are rapidly becoming among
the most important issues
facing today’s enterprise computing
marketplace. The
intrinsic value of the data that
exists on platforms exceeds the
value of the physical asset. The
explosive rise of wireless computing
within corporate networks
has given new impetus to
the need to protect systems and
networks with hardware-based
security approaches. The accessibility
provided to the mobile
professional or telecommuter
necessitates the need to provide
strong user authentication
services. And the security holes
which exist in the mainstream
operating systems and applications
are easily exploited by viral
attacks. In addition, user data
has become one of the main
attack points for intellectual property
losses in the Enterprise
today. These are among a few of
the threats facing our corporate
environments that are driving
the industry toward hardwarebased
trusted computing.
A leader in delivering trusted
computing applications, services,
and infrastructures across multiple
Trusted Platforms, Wave Systems
Corp. brings many years of
experience in the trusted computing
market. Prior to the
finalization of the TCG specification,
Wave developed and
deployed its industry leading
EMBASSY Trust System in support
of trusted computing. The
EMBASSY Trust System deploys
and manages secure applications
and services in a trusted environment.
The EMBASSY Trust
System provides secure hidden
application execution capability,
application lifecycle management
and secure time based
services. Today, Wave Systems
Corp. is working with the PC
ecosystem to deliver the
EMBASSY® Trust Suite of
applications and services. The
TPMs specified by TCG, provide
trusted resources used by
the Wave desktop and infrastructure
services to bring these
trusted functions to a PC
computing platform.
Wave applications and services
on the Trusted Platforms make
a secure, high-value, servicesrich
computing platform available
to enterprises and personal computer
manufacturers. These capabilities
are compliant with the
recently announced Trusted
Computing Group (TCG) specifications.

TRUSTED PLATFORMS FOR MOBILE NETWORKS
on the enterprise desktop and
mobile platforms in order to
bootstrap the trustworthy computing
initiative. The company
has developed the EMBASSY
Trust Suite as a simple set of
secure services, which introduce
the user to value-added applications
in a manner that is
intuitive and simplistic, yet
provides tangible value to the
enterprise. The current offering
is capable of providing a secure
user vault to securely store
corporate files, a personal information
manager to securely and
efficiently retrieve commonly
used personal and corporate
data, and a digital signature
platform which is capable of
securely signing electronic
documents according to government
mandated standards. The
EMBASSY Trust Suite is capable
of directing the IT manager or
corporate user to new offerings
of secure services as they become
available, ensuring that the corporate
environment is always
providing the greatest level of
security and usability to the user
community.
Wave has also leveraged its many
years of research and development
in trust infrastructures to
develop the EMBASSY Trust
Server & Services for the TCG
enterprise market. Wave has
been a pioneer in developing
HSM-enabled Trust Servers for
attestation, credential management,
and TPM key lifecycle
services for TPM enhanced
platforms. These capabilities
are provided in addition to our
SmartSafe solution, the ability
to provide electronically signed
document management services
compliant with government
regulations.
By adhering to a standards based
approach to Trusted Computing,
Wave Systems can assist its
customers with evolutionary
growth relying on broadly
supported industry initiatives.
This philosophy will allow the
enterprise users to leverage their
training and knowledge to not
only be productive, but also
secure, as they embark on the
digital commerce revolution
which awaits the availability of
trusted computing platforms.

Kevin_5 lets not forget

the little logo at the botton of the content page! LOL

If you look at all the partners solutions, there are first off precious few. Also there is no one in this space. I talk with a HP guy at the bus stop every morning, When I talk Wave with people they say there must be competition in such a potentially large space. Where??!?!???

I had lent out my hard copy already, thanks as I wished to share this with others, : )

Others should note that this magazine is a very easy read. Explaining things very simplistically. This should be shared.

Thanks again for your work,

VH2
