I can get satellite and I actually have a dish ready for installation. The problem is attaching it to my stucco house. I can do a pole but then want to make sure I don't have it ruin my view. I am also concerned about creating hole for the cable to run through. I get severe weather and already have water intrusion issues, so I don't want to create new ones.
A wireless pc card is faster than my dial up but still slower than DSL. However, Verizon is supposed to make the area digital by Jan/Feb of '07, making the connection speeds comparable to DSL. This idea intrigues me, but I am concerned that they don't install the digital service when they say they will.
So while I'm deciding, I have super-slow dial up. Notice it isn't just dial up - but uber-slow dial up. :(
