So, it's justified in this case to consider the "aggressive" setup. Now, the time frame from 2004 to 2006 hasn't exactly shown us huge buying opportunities, however. So, if that same stock had been tested from Oct, 2000 to Oct 2002, the more conservative approaches might have done better because of the buying power kept in reserve.

I used the period I did to match the period shown on the Stockcharts graph I had posted earlier so that Ray (or whomever else) could relate the results of the testing to the visual from the graph. That's the only drawback of Stockcharts is that they don't allow a defined time range (at least not without membership).

But, in general yes a larger cash buffer during a decline would produce different results. That's what it's there for!
