There are many many others, just these two were personal. I knew when I was shorted against, it happened every day. I worked out many trades with the other side and knew very well when they were negotiating for their trading account or for a client order they were working. You can tell by the body language. When you speak with people and meet them for beer after hours, you know their personalities.

And yes, NSS happens every day, just not anywhere near the extent that every penny stock CEO claims, this 8 Billion share short is 100% impossible, and Halpern is an ARSE for using this to pump his stock. Any MM shorting this stock covers nearly immediately, and will not accumulate a position of 8 Billion shares. That position pops up on a Blotter and they are reviewed on a daily basis.

I've held positions for over a week and my COO would come haunt me and start yelling at me to flatten out. Did I listen, not really, but I did't want to see her the following week with that position still sitting there. And if I did't listen and continued to blow her off, my next visit was General Counsel and the CFO in tandem.

These firms have deep pockets and can hide until they feel it's the appropriate time to cover....

How could they "hide" fails to deliver? Either the stock traded gets delivered or it doesn't. And if it doesn't, the person on the other end of the transaction will not be happy, and will complain.
