This is a nightmare for the consumer and the store.
Bought boots at Big 5 other day their policy is to open box up check whats inside.
With boot boxes much easier to do.
My bet is in the past people switched out boots for the more expensive ones. Same as returns they check them good.
People taking returns though should be checking whats inside at stores like HD. To many scammers out there. Majority of returns box is already been opened so not a big deal.
Was very surprised how many people said it had happened to them at different stores all around the region.
