I hear you, but their goal to create a new website must have been to boost their image and attract more/new investors. But I'm affraid this website (and the logo redesign) isn't going to help them with that at all...

Is having one mutually exclusive of having the other?

Why not have the compound that could possibly work AND a powerful website to effectively communicate this message?

Not sure why we can't have both--in fact, I think of the two, the website is the easier one to achieve!
