Well Apple invested in texture, it’s an app.
Similar to pixel mags it offers magazines on a few platforms like pixelmags. But pixelmags provides branded apps for publishers
Pixelmags also employs original content to be published digitally.
Hmm I’m also pretty sure pixelmags, stated in a PR from Solaris is a software development company.

So with all that said, I just don’t see why Apple bought the App “texture” of your recommendation is to not by pixelmags...

IMHO magazines are not going away. I imagine there will be a shake out but magazines will survive in one form or another.

People like to read. People like to read magazines.

Delivery, format, business model will change but they will not go extinct. IMHO ;-)
