There are people and companies that tried to hijack the moonshot program, with their own fake initiatives that they branded with the same moniker. The official “moonshot”, did not have this or any company and is more about facilitating easier combination therapies and facilitating individualized treatments with more data, but more importantly, encouraging everyone to work collaboratively, and more efficiently. 21st Century Cures Act was also to be a part and that including statuses like RMAT.
I know that some people think Biden indirectly sued the company, but that is false. I personally know one of Biden’s top person who managed the cancer moonshot program for him during the initial stages. It was primarily inter-agency NIH, which we know has put up funds, and is quite supportive of NWBO, FDA, and other agencies. The conspiratorial view is not at all consistent with reality. It’s easy to draw connections and look at details and believe that everyone is plotting against NWBO, which makes the upset about shorts, which is a real threat, seem less credible to casual observers. It’s simply not true.
There are multiple efforts denoting themselves as “cancer moonshot”, at this point and those are private initiatives that tried to copy the government initiative, but ultimately what they were doing is simply stealing the name so they could take credit for the effort.
On the other hand, shorts did do a number on this company, and that’s a whole other story that always concerns me. To make it about Biden or politics, is simply not kosher.
