When was the last time you installed java?
You may need to reinstall it.
Consider doing it this way however.
I don't know mac that well, this is instructions with windows OS.

Go to control panel, then choose 'programs and features' or whatever name programs comes up. Find and uninstall all versions of java. If you have a 3rd party program for cleaning files, use that as well and delete all java files. Find and delete the contents of all windows/temps folders.
Then shut the computer down. Hard shut down, not restart. Restart the computer and wait for it to come up completely.

Go to the java website and download the correct newest package for your system. You can have the website do a live install or download and do it yourself. Choose the website install and select 'remove all older files' Java will attempt to remove any java it finds and may say no prior exists. After the install is successful, don't go back to the website, just do a restart before anything else. Last thing to do is THEN go back to the java site then and have it check if you have the current version. It should say yes.

If after all this, you have the same problems, then a PM to Meatloaf may be in order.

Good luck.

On 64 bit FireFox, the Java plugin can't even be installed. But no matter, the HTML5 choice for running Trades works just fine.
