My question is if the company owned shares would the ownership of said shares even have to be listed on the Q?? I know that of all the business fillings I have encountered (tax returns, etc) information that is not deemed "necessary" is often left off for a number of reasons. Companies often want to look like they are operating at a loss to reduce tax liability but obviously those numbers are not indicative of the companies true standing. Amazon operating at a "loss" for years for example.
