The “par value” has little to no meaning. It does not represent any indication of value beyond the amount used on the balance sheet for showing the capitalization of the company and the “par value” piece is usually a very small portion of it.
What we are talking about is the conversion ratio that is stipulated in the designation for the preferred series. That is different, and completed separate, from the “par value”.
