Interesting fact. Prior to launching its S2 Lite phone in February of 2018, UmiDigi had been advertising the phones as using a 16MP Sony camera. It wasn't until the phone actually came out that it was made public that the cameras would be using the Omnivision OV16880 cameras instead of the Sony cameras. UmiDigi claimed the change was because the Omnivision cameras were an upgrade over the Sony sensor.

I wonder if Utopya used the info from the original S2 Lite specs instead of the updated specs? Or maybe UmiDigi upgraded their phones to the "better" camera sensor but they are manufacturing for others still using the Sony sensor.

This response is quite accurate with respect to the Umidigi S2 having more than favorable reviews as well as benchmark testing ran live against other US name brand phones which sell for well above $300.
