Those are my additions, sorry forgot to mention it in this post. The documentation is revealing though and I do believe that they are significant events. Aspartame and the Vioxx incident are two symptoms of the same disease, taking place over a 30 year period. Yes the FDA has got to change.

The original chart came off of a twitter feed of a credible authority but no source.

I believe the downward curve from 2014 is more than the opioid crisis. I also think it's because people can't afford decent healthcare.
