Institutions is not the whole story though. They usually don't buy at rock bottom prices. They sell.

Suppose SIAF sells some TRW stock for 100% of book, or CA stock for close to fair value. Then you will get a 1,000% rally without the institutions. Assuming we have no dumpage of course.

This is a different ballgame altogether now. And one shouldn't even begin to think about institutional money.
