Hi. You seem to be quoting a dictionary and not the agreement. Unless there is an adendum, then Li and Eontec are by definition ‘not’ affiliates.

There are legal reasons for drawing the distinction.

I agree that ‘in spirit’ Li is affiliated, but legally he isn’t.

I would also agree that if one took a deep dive, then there most likely exists a series of numbered companies around the world that end up at a corporate entity (probably in the Bahamas) that owns the 5% Li can never legally own.

The reasons for the distinction are presumed to be related to the laws of his incorporated entities on that side of the ocean, not legal reasons on this side of the pond. I say presumed, because my history of penny investments has mostly been limited to gold mining and biotech’s whose operations are North American or European. I’ve never famialiarized myself with international law , vis a vis Hong Kong.

Again, there are a few on here who understand the implications.

Well, my daughter is ready...off to ski!

Pretty sure he’s tapped out at 46%.

Besides, as long as everything goes smoothly it’s irrelevant.

The difference is more about maintaining an arms length relationship that gives definition to what might or might not be conflict of interest for Li.
