This is not like the internet. It's more like the 'Silk Road' of the internet. The internet was built by the military. This stuff is being built by criminals and criminal states to avoid detection of their transactions.

I love the shot at Gore. Good one. I also agree surprisingly with both of you. I agree with Bidness on the money laundering aspect and everything, but I also agree with you that it can and probably will become more mainstream.

My thinking is that the younger generation just doesn't use cash anymore. I have 20 nieces and nephews and amongst all of them together they will probably have about $30 cash on them total. They all use debit cards for everything. And when you look at who besides the criminals that use crypto's for laundering, who else is involved with cryptos? The other group is "young people." Digital currency fits right in with the way they do things. So young people will be the ones to make cryptos more mainstream. As that happens, governments are not going to like not being in control of a major currency. They need to be in control to properly tax and to be able to manipulate the economy. So at some point, governments will probably take the "if you can't beat em, join em stance." They will either create their own cc or they will pick one to champion that they have control over. There will be a lot of people left holding the bag on cryptos, but there is an opportunity to profit as things develop and if you can find the one that govts embrace, you will have the stock of a lifetime. JMHO.
