Believe me I am far from an expert, however I've done a good deal of research since the gap talk started long before this week. From my understanding and what I've read / watched it is a common misunderstanding to look at a gap based on the wicks, and that a gap is determined by the open price compared to the previous day's closing price.

Like I said, I'm not an expert. This isn't to say you're wrong. Just what my understanding is.

I thought gaps were spaces between previous day's close and next day's low if bullish, or next day's high if bearish...

That was always my understanding... Not the overlap between highs and lows day to day...

I could be wrong, but that was how I learned it...
