I understand your point. However, I don't believe the issue I raised was truly explored to any depth. I believe obfuscation and emotional reactions to my posts have reflected most of the discussion points. This post is no exception.
From what I sense here, 'organizational defensive mechanism' have kicked in for many posters which, have caused them to react defensively toward my original question, that being; “what constitutes a personal attack?".
It also appears to me, quite a few moderators have conflicting and at times opposing views on the subject. Now, we can all pretend this issue is a non-contentious one and it will just go away if we ignore it, or we can choose to honestly and thoughtfully explore the many aspects of it.
I choose the exploration side. Others are free to disagree. However, I intend to go on exploring this area, until I personally have a better understanding of the issue.
Quite a few members have asked me to return and be the moderator again, but, I'm not willing to do that unless I have a better grasp of this issue and the underlying policies of the management team of this site.
This seems like the logical place to have that discussion. If you can recommend a better venue, I would be happy to explore it. Barring that, if my posts cause you extreme distress, simply put me on ignore.
