Past immigration policy is not relevant to the world today. We can not take every person in the world that desires to be here.
And, how is it fair to tell others, that, no you may not come here because you are not from the right family.
Merit base is the fairest way, and when we admit One person, it is not a path for the entire extended family.
Having family members that are actual citizens should be considered as part of the merit of the individual, but not the defining one.
