Had the opportunity to study w/Dr. Peter Senge, "The Fifth Discipline". He talks about change a lot.
In our case we are seeing the (IMO) public failure of an important regulatory body b/c of their methods and their incapability to accept scientific realities. (see plaque)Who the hell spends billions on CNS disease like AD over 20+ years and keeps their job in spite of producing almost zero useful results?(except to prove conclusively what it NOT the cause) It looks like Dr. G. has called them out. There is evidence some are at least past the denial stage, but the establishment (FDA/BP/Govt) is a long way from accepting reality.
The FDA must transition into what Senge describes as a "Learning organization". The new visions/initiatives/guidance rule set will get them started. My vision is that some day each one of us will be able to submit a swab sample and have a tool spit out a customized prescription to dramatically enhance the quality of each life.
FDA has failed all of us, particularly those among us who have the misfortune to have (untreatable) CNS diseases. We will know we are on the right track when someone admits that. Then we will know that REAL change is happening.
