mine is all in cash account too, no margin! I used to sell some shares of other ticker to generate some dry powder and was able to buy options immediately in the past when I had the margin account. But now my broker makes me to wait 3 days to realize the money in my account before I make any option buys, but share buys are ok. Looks like if I sell options, I can buy options on the same day vice versa with shares.
Respectfully, longs tried such tricks a few years ago during the last run up and it did not produce a squeeze then, even when the short interest was greater the momentum stronger.
