Publicly traded companies occasionally release updates on progress of the company, they're called "Press Releases" (or "PR").

On June 15th 2017, MYDX announced a Canadian marketing campaign at a time legalized marijuana was still over a year away. Plus, the company, as said by Yazbeck in the August BNN interview, had not applied for medical status yet.

During the ad campaign in a country where marijuana was not legalized, the State of Nevada declared a state of emergency due to the demand for recreational marijuana.

Why was the advertising happening in Canada and nothing was seen in Nevada?

Wonder what the Q3 2017 revenues would have looked like if MYDX advertised its product where marijuana was legalized.
