Hopefully, as we move forward, insiders will be able to use their shares as collateral for loans instead of dumping them on the market.




James Kang, the founder and first Chairman and CEO of Liquidmetal, used all of his shares as collateral for loans which he used to purchase shares of other companies just after the IPO. When the tech bubble came, his brokerage issued margin calls on his Liquidmetal stock and precipitated the down move from $22 to 0.55 within weeks of the IPO.
